The Benefits of Red Lentils
Red lentils, like other types of lentils, are very nutritious. They are packed with B vitamins and potassium. In addition to being fat free and low calorie, red lentils are also a great source of protein for vegetarians and vegans, and they are also high in fibre. Lentils are very easy to cook and are usually ready within 20 to 30 minutes.

Tips for Serving Lentil Soup
- Rinse the lentils in a sieve under running water.

What Is the Difference Between Whole Red Lentils and Split Red Lentils?
Because they are split, split lentils cook much faster than whole lentils and tend to work better in dishes like soups, curries, and purees, as they give a thicker texture. Whole lentils tend to work better in salads or side dishes.
