What is Oats?

Oats, formally named Avena sativa, is a type of cereal grain from the Poaceae grass family of plants. The grain refers specifically to the edible seeds of oat grass, which is what ends up in our breakfast bowls.

It is commonly eaten for breakfast as oatmeal. They’re also often included in muffins, granola bars, cookies and other baked goods.

How to Make Jumbo Oats as a Porridge?

You could use water or just milk, or a combination of water and milk.

Aksoy Jumbo oats do not require soaking overnight and can be cooked straight from the packet.

Toast the oats in a warm skillet.
Transfer the oats to a small saucepan, adding the water and milk (and salt if using) and stir.
Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for around 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
Turn off the heat and cover, allowing to steam for another 5 minutes.

Porridge will thicken slightly on cooling so you may wish to add some milk to loosed it slightly.

Use Oatmeal For Your Skin And Beauty


Acne Boil half cup of oatmeal(Aksoy Jumbo Oats) in the same amount of water and let it cool. Stir the mixture together until you get a fine paste. Apply this mask on your face. Let it sit for 20 min and rinse it off with warm water. You can also add blended tomato paste to the mask, but make sure you are not allergic to tomatoes. Do consult your dermatologist before trying out the mask.	Dry Skin Draw yourself a simple oatmeal bath. Add some Aksoy Jumbo Oats(uncooked and blend it into powder) and baking soda to your bath water. And simply soak in the antioxidants for about 20 minutes. Pat yourself dry. You can also use colloidal oatmeal in your bathwater.	Blackheads Take two tablespoons of oatmeal, three tablespoons of plain yogurt and a half lemon juice. Mix it well until you get a fine paste. Apply this on to your nose and the most affected area. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.	Exfoliate Prepare a simple scrub of oatmeal, lukewarm water, sugar and coconut oil. Apply this scrub on your face and let it stay for 20 minutes. Clean your face with soft wet tissues. For best results, use the scrub at least twice in a week.
